Hi! My name is Daniela, and I’m a Human Development student at Cornell University. I joined this project for its focus on community and outreach, but I ended up gaining a newfound appreciation for nature and birds. Now, I see the world with more curiosity… and even discovered my favorite birds—hummingbirds!
- Diana Palma-Vazquez
Hi! My name is Diana. I am in the Class of 2027 at Cornell University, and I am currently studying Cognitive Science. I enjoy practicing my Spanish and walking through hiking trails to admire its nature. I am grateful to be a part of such an amazing team here at the Lab of Ornithology Educational and Outreach Initiatives for Latin America & The Caribbean and to accomplish all the projects it does.

Hello! My name is Maoz. I am in the Cornell University Class of 2026, studying Environmental Engineering. I am excited to be a part of the Lab of Ornithology Educational and Outreach Initiatives for Latin America & The Caribbean team because I can contribute to the Lab’s projects and mission towards community development efforts in Latin America. I also enjoy spending time in nature and practicing my Spanish, so I am grateful for the opportunities to do so at the Lab!

Hi! My name is Deb. I’m a retired professor from Cornell University, where I taught Genetics for 25 years. I garden, hike with my dogs, and also volunteer for a group that takes care of 1,000 miles (1600 kilometers) of hiking trails in my area. All of this lets me appreciate nature, be in nature, and help nature and the environment.

I put my energy and passion into reaching, engaging, and supporting diverse communities in birding, participatory science, and conservation. I also coordinate this website. Hi, my name is Cassandra, and this handsome bird is Pancho! I graduated with a degree in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University. In the last three years of my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to work in the Educational and Outreach Initiatives for Latin America & The Caribbean. Thanks to this experience, I could combine two of my passions, being involved in my community and birds.

Hi, my name is Corey! I am a Cornell grad who studied International Relations and Economics. Working on this project for nearly three years gave me the opportunity to combine my passion for the Spanish language and the environment.
