Students shine at major research conference
Max Witynski’s work with Emma Greig on song recognition in the poorly-studied Verdin. Liam Berigan’s investigation of House Sparrow trends from FeederWatch data. Connor Rosenblatt’s study on birds of open fields in winter. Cornell grad Jack Hruska talks about sustainable, environmentally responsible coffee production. Andrew Dreelin in his element. Cornell grad Sara Gonzalez and her wonderful senior thesis research.
The largest scientific conference focused on avian ecology and ornithology ever to take place was held August 16-20, 2016 in Washington, D.C. The North American Ornithological Conference hosted more than 2,000 researchers and featured a dazzling diversity of quality work from Cornell students past and present. Congrats to current and former lab group members who shared their work and learned a ton at this dynamic (and overwhelming!) conference.
