Welcome to the BFL Recreation Study!

The Recreation Study was formerly a component of the Birds in Forested Landscapes (BFL) project. It was conducted on National Forest land with generous funding from the USDA Forest Service. We'd like to thank all participants and SCA volunteers who contributed their time and data to the project. This study is no longer active; we collected our last season of data in 2002. At this time, we are working on a final report and various other publications using Recreation Study data. Check back, as we will be posting them on our online publications page as they become available.

Even though you can no longer participate in the Recreation Study, you can still read the protocol and learn more about what we've done by following the links below. If you're a past Recreation Study participant, please consider participating in the regular BFL project in the future. Contact Sara Barker at (607) 254-2465 or Jim Lowe at (607) 254-2413, or email forest_birds@cornell.edu for more information.
